Sophie Masson is my guest on Thursday Book Club
t's just over a week until BAD Sydney Crime Writers Festival gets started. Congratulations to Elizabeth Walton and Debbie Warnock who have each won a double pass to The Outer Limits Where Writers Won’t Go, my weekend session with Tim Ayliffe and Michael Robotham, facilitated by Sue Turnbull. You can check out the rest of the program here.
I spent the weekend at the HNSA (Historical Novel Society Australasia) Conference, which was terrific. I was on a panel with fellow writers Ali Stegert, Amelia Mellor and Susanne Gervay and I interviewed the fabulous Tom Keneally,
This followed the announcement of the ARA Historical Novel Prizes. Gail Jones won the adult category for her novel Salonika Burning, with Jock Serong and Fiona Kelly McGregor joining her on the shortlist.
Katrina Nannestad, Amelia Mellor and I were shortlisted for the children and young adult category, with Amelia being announced as the winner for her novel The Bookseller's Apprentice.
I'm looking forward to my NSW and Victorian book tour in November, with events in Port Macquarie, Coffs Harbour, Byron Bay, Glen Innes, Melbourne, Geelong and Castlemaine. Hope to see some of you on my travels. You can find details of my author events here.
In the meantime, I'd love to have your company tomorrow night when Sophie Masson will give us a preview of her novel, The Paris Cooking School, which will hit the bookshelves next week.
